The house Vivaldi lived in while in Vienna was torn down; the Hotel Sacher is built on part of the site. The latter was so popular that it performed two years later, re-edited and retitled Artabano re dei Parti (RV 701, now lost). Often this process dispenses with the strengths of the original---boldness, clarity and emotional directness. Vivaldi was unquestionably a master orchestrator who explored the idiomatic potential of the many instruments for which he wrote. Coste's music is similar to Sor's, but with a more Romantic French style. The Pepe Romero double CD of Boccherini is a must-have recording, as is Richard Savino's. If the going gets really rough, there’s also “The Divine Poem”. The printing is clear, bold, and urtext - highly recommended. When a line connects two (or more) boxes, those boxes each contain the same letter.

Great for elementary age kids and perfect for the homeschool or traditional classroom!! Rung's music is stylistically similar to Sor's, but with a Scandinavian component. He also wrote chamber music and his two piano quartets are particularly well known. With the return of Vivaldi to popularity in the 20th century came an assumption of a rather placid and bland interpretation to his music which appeared to pigeon-hole him as a composer of the second order.
